Say ‘cheese’ takes on new meaning here. The ways of spelling it could be as many as the different types, flavours and textures of cheese found around the world. Not really. But we’ve come across a bunch of permutations and will, henceforth, keep count. Busy days. Busy days.

The following picture is a perennial favourite in the cheese steaks stakes and has been spotted many times, including by @arvindjkv, @brysonhull and Tharindra Kulasinghe.

Last but not least, here’s one that might ‘great’ your nerves via @Sal_D_Man.

A case of being too ‘honest?’ Spotted by roving tuk-tuk hound @Nazly.

A 163-member parliamentary committee has had a much needed “breakthrough” in their months-long probe into the rise in the number of typos plaguing the country, a source said.

According to the source, who declined to be identified due to reasons best know to him, the rabid investigators had stumbled upon one of many dubious digital and offset printing houses masquerading as advertising, or in this case ‘asvertising’, agencies responsible for these atrocities.

“This breakthrough came in the nick of time,” said the source. “The Committee for Investigating Typos and Crimes Against Language was running out of samosas for the daily committee hearings and musings,” he added.

“The committee has found that these types of places are the biggest culprits responsible for introducing all kinds of typos and other obscenities to the public.”

The discovery was made while committee sleuths were searching high and low for a bottle of arrack during a recent Poya holiday, the source said.

TypoInColombo managed to obtain a photograph of the offending establishment (above) thanks to @razaldazal.

Committee members were unavailable to comment on the matter as they were having a post-lunch siesta. But our source says investigations will now continue with renewed vigour as this development has enabled the Parliamentary Committee on Budgets for Parliamentary Committees to allocate more funds for samosas.
